Be The Best Version Of You

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received was this simple question – How do you want to show up in this situation?

Today was one of those days – I was super busy, rushed, running late and obviously emitting a negative vibe as I was receiving so much negative energy from strangers. I felt all of these emotions bubbling up inside of me – particularly anger and frustration – I wanted to scream, cry and pound my feet. I could have, and that would have been okay, but instead I asked myself the simple, powerful question above – How do I want to show up in this situation?

It instantly switched my perspective and I realized that I wasn’t showing up how I wanted to. I wanted to be understanding, compassionate, patient, loving, kind, forgiving, calm, cool and collected. I thought about how I had to act, and react, in order to honour these characteristics. I took a big sigh and I let my frustrations go. I vowed to be mindful for the rest of the day and show up as the person I wanted to be.
