Healthy Guilt-free Pumpkin Spice Lattes!

So I realize it’s only August but Fall is coming and that means crisp air, cute boots, comfy oversized sweaters, and pumpkin everything!

One of my favourite pumpkin treats is a pumpkin spiced latte. Warm, sweet, and delicious… my mouth is watering just thinking about it.  Like me, you may have been a little heart broken, although not all that surprised, about Food Babe’s recent article on what’s really in a Starbucks pumpkin spice latte.  Here’s an overview:

Not very pretty. Have no fear though because there are a ton of healthy alternatives out there. Healthy guilt-free pumpkin spice lattes? Yes please! I did a quick search on-line and found a bunch of yummy recipes to try which I’ve copied below. The best part is these home-made versions use real ingredients that you probably have at home right now like:

  • Almond milk (side note: Vancouver peeps, have you checked out Nuez Milk yet? They make AMAZING raw, fair trade, certified organic nut milks)
  • Pumpkin purée
  • Vanilla extract
  • Maple syrup
  • Coffeeee (or espresso)
  • Pumpkin pie spice*

*Pumpkin pie spice is super easy to make. Combine 50% cinnamon, 20% nutmeg, 15% ginger, 10% ground clove, and 5% cardamom. Voilà!

Got the ingredients? Good. Now either create your own masterpiece or click through below to follow one of these super yummy pumpkin spice lattes recipes:
