Juice Recipes

Below are the recipes from my two-day juice cleanse in September! I’m a BIG fan of juice. I typically replace one meal per day with a fresh juice. They provide a quick punch of nutrients and minerals that your body can easily absorb into the bloodstream. This gives your digestive system a break so your cells can refocus on rest & repair. I instantly feel an energy boost after drinking fresh juice. Plus it’s the only way I can eat a full head of kale, one large cucumber, a chunk of ginger, 2 lemons, a bunch of cilantro, and a few apples in one sitting 😉 Removing the fibre allows you to pack a ton of veggies and fruits into one juice. As always, try to use organic ingredients when possible.

Heavy Metal Detox Juice
Parsley and cilantro are amazing herbs that help to remove heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, lead, uranium, and aluminum from our bodies. These heavy metals build up in our bodies through food, water, air, or by absorption through the skin and can contribute to serious health problems.

  • Celery (5 stalks)
  • Kale (or other greens; collard, spinach, dandelion leaf, etc) (4 leafs)
  • Apple (2 apples)
  • Lemon (1, peeled)
  • Parsley (1 bunch)
  • Cilantro (1 bunch)

Bromelain Boost
Pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain which has awesome health benefits. Bromelain has been attributed to improved blood circulation, heart health, has anti-inflammatory effects, improves immunity, and helps thin mucus which is helpful if you have a cold or even asthma. Not to mention this is the BEST tasting juice I’ve ever made.

  • Pineapple (whole pineapple, peeled)
  • Mint (1 bunch)
  • Kale (3 leaves)
  • Apple (2 apples)

Holding on to Summer
This juice is super refreshing. The mint and ginger will help to aid in digestion and watermelon contains many antioxidants, flavonoids, and vitamins.

  • Watermelon (3 cups)
  • Ginger (1 thumb – I don’t peel ginger but you can if you prefer to)
  • Mint (1 bunch)

Blood Cleanser
Beets are powerful cleansers and builders of blood. They have an adaptogenic effect on blood pressure, lowering high blood pressure or elevating low blood pressure. They are high in iron which helps to regenerate red blood cells, making oxygen more readily available to the body.

  • Beets (3-4 beets)
  • Apple (3 apples)
  • Lemon (1, peeled)
  • Ginger (1 thumb)

Night Vision
Do carrots really help you to see better at night? I’m not sure, but this juice is delicious and full of vitamins and minerals. Plus the bright orange colour is really visually appealing.

  • Apple (3 apples)
  • Ginger (1 thumb)
  • Carrot (6 large carrots)

Glowing Green Goddess
Cucumber has long been associated as a beauty food thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It contains Vitamins K, B, C, Potassium and Manganese to name a few and has been noted to improve skin, hair and nails.

  • Cucumber (1 full)
  • Lemon (1, peeled)
  • Apple (3 apples)
  • Greens (Kale, Spinach, Chard, Collard Greens, etc) (6 leaves)
  • Ginger (1 thumb)

Morning Shots
Say goodbye to coffee! a shot of this bad boy will wake you up like nothing else. I like to make a big mason jar of this at the start of the week and drink a little bit each morning. It’s SO good for you! It alkalizes your body, starts digestion moving, is anti-inflammatory, is super anti-microbial which means it will kill off the bad guys, has pre-biotics to improve gut health, plus you just feel like a champ after drinking it! Seriously, I applaud anyone who makes this, *high-fives*

  • Lemon (6-8 lemons)
  • Ginger (3 thumbs)
  • Cayenne (a healthy shake)
  • Garlic (6 cloves)
  • Do not drink all at once! I try to drink about 1/4 cup each morning.

  1. Glad your juice cleanse went well! Did you notice any immediate benefits from it? 🙂 Stumbled upon this after posting my wife’s RAINBOW JUICE concoction with a cold pressed juicer. 🙂 Come see the pictures if you have the time! 🙂

  2. Thanks! I felt great while on the cleanse, more energy and overall just more alert, but I did find that the lack of fibre made my digestion a little sluggish for a few days after. How did you find your cleanse? You juices look delish!! And I love the tip about spraying fruit and veggies with ACV and washing well before eating. Happy Health!
